In case you missed it, 2021 marks (RED)’s 15th anniversary year! To mark this special occasion, (RED) partner Louis Vuitton has announced the auctioning of the Louis Vuitton I (RED) LV Trainer Prototype at Sotheby’s Auction House to support (RED)’s fight against pandemics.

Personally signed by Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, the one-of-a-kind sneaker features a bright red side grid, later adjusted to white for the actual production launch. As is standard for Louis Vuitton prototype shoes, the sneaker is men’s size 9 UK.

The unique pair will be offered in a single-lot, online-only auction on Sothebys.com beginning today, February 22nd, through Thursday, March 4th. Full proceeds from the sale will be donated to support the Global Fund’s life-saving work in the fight against AIDS and COVID-19.

Want to check out the shoes in person? The pair will be on view by appointment in Sotheby’s New York galleries.
